Materials:
1  2-1/2" styrofoam ball (Head)       1  1-1/2" styrofoam tube (cut 3" for  body)
1  1-1/2" styrofoam ball (Shoes)          2   5-1/2" 20 guage wire (Arms)
1  2" chop stick (Neck-sharpen both ends to make easy to insert)
2  4-1/2" 18 guage wire or 2 4-1/2" chop sticks (Legs)
26" x 25" Washi paper (Plain or bark chips imbedded)
Wall paper paste      Elmer's or white glue
***Hand torn, no scissors. When I glue down, it will not have a hard edge where pieces overlay.

***Glue on torn pieces one at a time. Preglueing will not save time because Washi paper absorbs
the moisture fast and you have to apply glue again.
HEAD:
* Draw a line around the center of the ball and along this line, press ball against table
edge (Figure 2). Make the head shape like Figure 3.
* Make several strips about 5/8" wide then cut these strips to make 5/8" square pieces

(larger than this size will make folds when you glue down on head).
* Dab glue on your finger tip. Apply glue on a piece you are using, evenly apply on  the
styrofoam slightly over lapping each other. Cover the head with Washi paper at least
   3 layers.

NOSE 1: Put a lentil with a tiny dab of glue on the right place for the nose, then let it dry. Cover with several layers over and around the nose (Figure).
NOSE 2:
Use round beads with a straight sewing pin insted of a lentil (Figure 5 & 6).

EYES AND MOUTH:
Draw eyes & mouth on the same Washi paper I'm using for the doll's face (Figure7). Hand cut, glue on the right location on face and put on eyes & mouth Figure 8).

BODY:
* Trim the 3" tube (Figure 9) to a cone shape.
* Insert 2" chop stick for a neck( Figure 10).
* Cover with at least 3 layers of Washi paper on the body (Figure 11).
* Cover the neck with strips until you build a desired size (long neck, short
    thick or thin neck.

ARMS & LEGS:
Cut 3/8" wide hand torn strips to wrap around the wire. If you want thicker arms and legs, wrap more layers (Figure 12 & 13).

Figure12
SHOES:
Flatten both sides of a 1 1/2" ball (Figure 14). Cut in half with the flat side on the bottom. Make a foot (shoe) shape. Insert wire legs (Figure 15) or legs (Figure 16) into the shoes with white glue.

* Use 4 1/2" x 15" long Washi paper. Fold to 2 1/2 x 15". Hand tear about 1/2" wide strips. Open the   torn      strips (Figure 19). Use as hair with crinkling (Figure 20) or without crinkling.
* Glue down one strip at a time on head and don't put glue on the whole strip to avoid  having a flattened      head ( Figure 21 & 22).
